EL DORADO HILLS, CA - November 24, 2014 - Dorado Software, Inc. (http://doradosoftware.com), a global provider of resource, performance and service management solutions for service providers, today announced the addition of their Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) Management and Orchestration (MANO) component to their existing Redcell Service Management suite. Dorado Software offers a proven record of managing the current network IP, MPLS and Ethernet infrastructure that will be a key component of these initial NFV offerings.

"There is currently a big gap between managing virtual network functions and managing the physical network," stated Caroline Chappell, Principal Analyst, Cloud and NFV at Heavy Reading. "Bringing MANO capabilities together with traditional network and service management helps service providers bridge that gap for hybrid services."

"The Redcell MANO component extends our differentiation to Virtualized Network Functions (VNFs)," said Chris Simon, Director, Service Provider and NFV Business Unit. "By incorporating leading open capabilities like Openstack and RESTful APIs, we can offer comprehensive VNFonboarding and orchestration capabilities. In addition, the solution delivers orchestration capabilities across both physical and virtual network functions to provide service providers an immediate path to capture NFV benefits."

The Redcell suite offers key features essential for full realization of the NFV orchestration vision including resource containers for multi-tenant customer self-service, integrated end-to-end monitoring and multi-vendor activation for automated closed loop processing, with operational collaboration tools to support the diverse organizations who will be stake holders in these new services.

"Service providers have an immediate requirement to address the complexity and costs of deploying their IP services networks" noted Sue Rudd, Director Service Provider Analysis at Strategy Analytics. "Network function vendors are creating a number of virtualized capabilities to address these goals in the future. What is needed, however, is a practical management and orchestration solution that manages today's immediate service requirements on existing networks while providing a clear path for the future advanced services that will evolve as NFV and Software Defined Networking mature over the next few years."

Dorado Software is a participant of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), which has set a beacon for the industry and an effective guide for the implementation of VNFs, and of the Linux Foundation which is leading the OpenNFV process.
